The Premier Sports Network was founded in 2005 as a concept to do
broadcasting the right way. PSN
was founded by Larry Cooper and with the help and support of Kyle Nickell, the network launched its first broadcast with audio coverage of
the Lee College Runnin’ Rebels at Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse to play the
Jacksonville Jaguars in a Region XIV basketball game on February 2,
2005.
Justin and Jeremy
Branham, part of the original network staff, were instrumental in the
outset in putting PSN on the map with the creation of PSNSports.com.
PSN built its reputation by giving quality broadcasts each and
every time on the air. PSN
appreciates the faith that then Caney Creek AD Lance Moffitt and
Splendora AD Kevin Weldon showed in our network in signing the first
exclusive broadcast agreements in our history.
In June 2006, PSN celebrated its first Texas State High School
Championship as The Woodland Highlanders defeated the Katy Tigers at
Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. In the time since we have been
fortunate to broadcast multiple championship games, most recently a
video broadcast of the Region XIV Championship game in which the Lamar
State Seahawks captured their first regional championship defeating the
San Jacinto Ravens. Since 2005,
the Premier Sports Network has continued to grow each year in both the
quality of broadcasts and the number of events we have been able to
provide to our audience.
Lee College was added as a full time entity in the fall of 2006,
becoming the first junior college in America to have its full regular
season broadcast over the air.
On November 2, 2009, PSN launched a new era in private sports
broadcasting with our first ever real-time video broadcast from Baytown,
Texas featuring Lee College and Lone Star College of Kingwood.
PSN has continued to refine our video presentations and hit a
high water mark in 2010-11 with over one hundred unique video
presentations in high school and college sports.
In creating PSN, the one thing we at the network wanted everyone in our
growing audience to understand was we were not the event and are not
bigger than the stage.
We
consider it our privilege to do what we do and hold the schools,
administration and regulators in the highest of regards. The one thing we have applied to this endeavor is our desire to
bring you, the audience, to the action. It is our vision to treat both our friends and competitors with
the utmost respect while striving to remain a very welcomed entity in
the sports broadcasting market. We thank those that helped support us from the outset. Our reputation is what we have built and will never be
compromised as we continue to be…
